Journalism scholarship available for women

The B.C. and Yukon Community B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·paper Association, of which the B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ· is a member, is offering a $2,500 scholarship for one woman to study journalism at Langara College in Vancouver.

Applicants must be at least 19, a resident of B.C. and demonstrate an interest in journalism.

Alternatively, the person would be an employee of a community newspaper in B.C. with less than one year of experience.

The journalism certificate program at Langara is an eight-month course and is best suited for individuals with previous academic or professional success in English or writing, a university degree in a field relevant to journalism, or a combination of the two.
