A Canadian flag was brought to life in Fernwood as the latest flower creation was unveiled at Oneness Heart Park.
The new creation, which spans 3.5 by 1.5 metres, can be found at the corner of Princess Avenue and Chambers Street.
Park curator Sahasi Erven said the idea for the Canadian flag design came earlier in the week with Flag Day looming.
The finishing touches of the flag were completed by Erven's 99-year-old mother, Pauline, who placed the final bulbs into the soil to complete the puzzle.
Previously, Erven helped plant three other flags B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ two of which are at Oneness Heart Park B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ and one larger, 300-square-metre Ukrainian flag that was created at Beacon Hill Park in July 2022.
Oneness Heart Park originally bloomed in April 2006, with the goal of becoming "the most beautiful small place on earth," in dedication to the late spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy.
Despite its small size, the park planted more than 21,000 spring bulbs in 2024 and will aim for a similar volume this year, with the majority of the blooms taking place between March and October before resting through the winter.
