An owl at the B.C. SPCAB次元官网网址檚 Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) is in need of a little tender loving care and staff at the Metchosin facility are hoping members of the public will help out.
Rescued by a Good Samaritan, the great horned owl was underweight and had problems with one of her eyes when she was brought to Wild ARC.

B次元官网网址淪he was very skinny B次元官网网址 the problems with her eye were most likely caused by head trauma,B次元官网网址 said assistant manager Meg Hatch in a statement. B次元官网网址淪he was very quiet and not very responsive at first and her eye continued to deteriorate, so it was decided the best option would be to remove the eye completely.B次元官网网址
A local veterinarian volunteered her services for the procedure and not long after, the owl started to bounce back to life.
B次元官网网址淪heB次元官网网址檚 doing great. SheB次元官网网址檚 been moved to our outdoor flight pen where she has more room to fly and has been hunting prey successfully,B次元官网网址 Hatch said, adding once the animal has recovered she will be released back into the wild.
But the cost of this treatment and recovery is expected to total more than $4,000, even with the efforts from a team of volunteers. The B.C. SPCA and Wild ARC are asking for the publicB次元官网网址檚 help by donating to this cause and others.
