One of B.C.B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s biggest sustainability summits is coming to Colwood.
Royal Bay secondaryB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s hallways will be filled with exhibitors and visitors rather than students, showcasing and celebrating sustainability and environmental initiatives during the fifth annual Creatively United for the Planet.
Spearheaded by former Green Party candidate Frances Litman, the summit features four separate events on four separate days, starting with two at the Colwood school.
Day one on April 15, features a Farm-to-Table gourmet four-course meal with local chefs, local food and information on its source, representatives from the slow-food and fair trade movements, as well as live music, an art show and dancing.
Saturday, April 16 is the big showcase featuring more than 70 speakers and exhibitors, including Buddy Boy, one of the leading zero waste experts, award-winning photographer and conservationist Wayne Sawchuk, Garry Brooks of the African Community Project Health, wellness presentations and much more. April 15, Farm-to-Table Gourmet Dinner is 6 to 10 p.m. at Royal Bay school and tickets are $60 per person. April 16 is the sustainability showcase from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Royal Bay School.
Admission is $10 per adult and free for people 16 and under. Outdoor events are free. April 22 to 23 the fun continues with two more events at the Royal B.C. Museum in Victoria.
