Forecast says raining pumpkins, but smashing time at Langford fundraiser

Firefighters will be dropping unwanted jack-o'-lanterns from their 100-foot fire engine ladder

It will be raining unwanted Halloween jack-o'-lanterns at a Langford community fundraiser in early November.

To raise money for the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund, which provides support and enhances care for burn survivors of all ages, firefighters from Langford Fire Rescue will be dropping the community's unwanted pumpkins from their 100-foot fire engine ladder.

Those wanting to dispose of their leftover jack-o-lanterns are invited to make a donation. Volunteers from the Westshore Town Centre Tim Hortons will be also raising money for charity by serving hot chocolate and coffee at the event, also by donation.

The 'smashing fun' event will be held in the Westshore Town Centre Cineplex parking lot on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This is the fifth time the event has been hosted by Westshore Town Centre and Langford Fire Rescue.
