Firefighters across the region swing into the giving season

Oak Bay, Esquimalt & Victoria Fire Fighters: $11,000 (Bright Nights in Stanley Park, Facebook)

Holiday-giving is spreading through local fire departments.

Alongside their associates from Victoria and Esquimalt, the Oak Bay Fire Department jointly donated $11,000 to the BC Burn Fund Nov. 28. Firefighters in Saanich donated $5,000 as well.

Next, Oak Bay FD were seen hauling Christmas trees into cars, giving their early support to CFAX Santas Anonymous.

At least one Oak Bay firefighter will be volunteering on the phones during this yearB次元官网网址檚 Miracle on Broad Street radio-thon Dec. 14, alongside other firefighters from VictoriaB次元官网网址檚 core departments.

In Oak Bay, firefighters give back year-round.

In September they handed Monterey Middle School $5,000 to put towards a new outdoor climbing structure. Then in November, four firefighters almost doubled their $500 Movember goal, raising $931.
