Explore ocean life from WittyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Beach

The CRD invites you to join their naturalists at Witty's Lagoon this weekend

Get your feet wet and discover what emerges from the ocean between tides.

The Capital Regional District is inviting the public to join one of their regional parks naturalist for an intertidal exploration guided walk at WittyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Lagoon Regional Park in Metchosin.

This all-ages walk, taking place this Saturday (Aug. 15) from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., will explore the strange and wonderful creatures that appear in tide pools between the changing tides.

On Sunday, the CRDB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s regional parks naturalists return to WittyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Lagoon Regional Park with a seine net to see what creatures live in the deeper reaches of the ocean. This event, for children aged five and up, runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Interested participants for either event are asked to meet on the main beach, a 20-minute walk on the forest trail from the main parking lot off Metchosin Road, and are reminded to bring sandals or beach shoes. Participants are reminded the beach access is closed from Witty Beach Road.
