A two-phase project at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre that looks to improve its accessibility and lower the siteB次元官网网址檚 environmental impact has begun.

Phase one focuses on mechanical upgrades and the work thatB次元官网网址檚 now underway includes transitioning the facilityB次元官网网址檚 gas boiler to a high efficient heat pump, replacing gas hot water tanks to electric ones and upgrading weight room heat pumps to provide increased heating and cooling capacity.

The tennis centre will receive ventilation and heat recovery systems, and efficient LED lighting during the initial phase.

The recreation centre is expected to remain open during the renovations, but the District of Saanich said the work may cause some temporary programming disruptions, along with increased noise at times. The public can stay up to date on any impacts related to the work at this .

A second phase of the project will add a main entrance vestibule to increase energy efficiency and create a redesigned reception counter. That work will also include the installation of new automatic door openers, new flooring and upgraded glazing.

The renovations are being funded by the federal government, with the district chipping in some funds as well.
