Diabetes group seeks donations

Old clothes and accessories from your closet can be transformed into a helping hand for people living with diabetes.

The Canadian Diabetes Association hopes to collect 12 million kilograms of reusable clothing across Canada for its annual Fill A Truck event. Money raised through clothing sales supports nine million diabetic or pre-diabetic Canadians.

Clothing, footwear, books and toy donations are accepted Saturday (May 21) from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Walmart, 860 Attree Ave. in Langford and Peninsula Co-op, 2132 Keating Cross Rd. To arrange for a free pick-up, call 1-800-505-5525 or visit www.diabetes.ca/promise.
