The MotherB次元官网网址檚 Day Paint-In at Royal Roads University has become a staple event for many families celebrating MotherB次元官网网址檚 Day.

Organizers anticipate thousands of moms and families will stroll the scenic grounds and gardens of Hatley Park for this 16th anniversary of the event.

About 20 artists will line the path between Hatley Castle and the Coast Collective art gallery.

Guided tours are also offered by the Juan de Pathfinders. The walks are offered at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

This year Rodstrom has been organizing the artists and along the path artists will be displaying paintings, stone carving and fused glass.

Local artisans will be showcasing and selling artwork, including the West Shore QuiterB次元官网网址檚 Guild. B次元官网网址淲e like to be in the community and talk to people who are interested in quilting,B次元官网网址� said guild president Joyce Wallace. B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 a nice time, and there are so many things to see. ItB次元官网网址檚 a good family day.B次元官网网址�

Local musicians will be playing tunes throughout the event. Musical talent includes Soul 62, Mike Lefebvre and Perros Libres, Chikoro Marimba Band and West Shore Community Concert Band.

While the event is for mothers, there is plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained.

Tickles the Clown will make an appearance at 11:15 a.m. Island Farms mascot Daisy and Farmer Vicki arrives at noon. Twiggly Wiggly the Magic Clown will make an appearance at 2:30 p.m. There will also be crafts, games and face painting.

The event starts at 10 a.m., May 8, at Royal Roads University, 2005 Sooke Rd.
