Beacon Bus gets another boost

The Salvation Army has raised more than half of the $100,000 required to replace its aging Beacon Bus

The Salvation Army has raised more than half of the $100,000 required to replace its aging Beacon Bus, thanks to a donation from a local developer.

Keycorp Consulting Ltd donated $10,000 for the replacement bus, a Sprinter van that will be outfitted with a kitchen and emergency care supplies.

The Beacon Bus has been responding to search and rescue operations and serving weekly meals for the past 15 years.

To make a donation to the Beacon Bus campaign, call 250-386-3366 or visit the Salvation Army office at 777 Fort St.
