Applications are now open for the Capital Regional DistrictB次元官网网址檚 Constable Sarah Beckett Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship, offered by the CRDB次元官网网址檚 Traffic Safety Commission, is valued at $2,000 and is for post-secondary students living in the region and pursuing a career in law enforcement.

Applications will be judged based on academic achievement, financial need, and community service. They will be accepted until July 7.

Beckett lost her life in a tragic automobile crash in 2016. Subsequently, the commission created the scholarship to elevate awareness of traffic safety and community policing. The CRD Traffic Safety Commission is responsible for traffic safety education programs and making road safety recommendations to the CRD board.
