The Sierra Club BC in Victoria hopes to take you for a walk on the wild side.
Ornithologist and naturalist James Clowater, offers up a free listen-and-learn walk starring the American robin, northern flicker, StellerB次元官网网址檚 jay, the great blue heron, belted kingfisher and many more marine birds who spend time at Esquimalt Lagoon.
B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 an opportunity for the community to come together in natural spaces and to learn more about the environments they live in and learn more about the species we share our spaces with,B次元官网网址 said SCVB outings co-ordinator Kimia Abhar. B次元官网网址淗opefully itB次元官网网址檚 an opportunity to see the beauty of Victoria and British Columbia.B次元官网网址 Abhar said Esquimalt Lagoon was selected by Clowater, who guides the walk, to showcase the numerous species of marine birds that call the area home. Clowater has researched marine bird behaviours for years and has a keen interest and knowledge of the flora and fauna with a specialty in song birds.
The walk is Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m. starting adjacent to the bridge at Esquimalt Lagoon and will be approximately two hours. All interested parties are encouraged to wear proper footwear as the area may be wet. To RSVP contact Abhar at 250-532-1176 or email sierraoutingsvic@gmail.com.
