Supermarket chain Sobeys operates four mostly-automated distribution centres in Canada, aimed at lowering labour costs. The grocer says the facilities allow one person to do the work of three traditional employees. Sobeys operates more than 20 stores on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland and is one of the largest supermarket chains on Vancouver Island.
