Clipper Navigation expands its international marine transportation capabilities tomorrow, as the Victoria Clipper V makes its inaugural run on the Victoria to Seattle route.
The high-speed catamaran, with a fleet-high capacity of 440 passengers and a new business class section, replaces the 22-year-old Clipper IV, which is being retired from service after todayB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s (Feb. 28) runs.
The larger ship was originally intended to provide passenger service from Victoria harbour to downtown Vancouver, to compete with the V2V passenger ferry, but that decision was cancelled late last year.
Clipper Navigation is hosting a media tour of its new ship on Thursday, prior to its 5 p.m. departure. As part of the event, the ship will be blessed by Songhees First Nation elders.
