Belmont secondary business students showed off their entrepreneurial ideas during the recent Innovation Jam in Vancouver.

The event, put on last month by Junior Achievement of British Columbia,  saw the team of Julia Krupa, Lance Hall, B.K. Pannu, Mackenzie Cosburn, Cam McMicken and Callum Derby make a pitch to a panel of judges that included some of the provinceB次元官网网址檚 top CEOs.

In the semifinals, the students presented an idea for a social media platform for immigrants and other newcomers to Canada to connect them with friends, activities and services in their new communities.

Teacher sponsor Tom Grainger said the group represented the school well over the course of the two-day conference.

Businesspeople, provincial and federal cabinet ministers, other teachers and event organizers commented on how much they enjoyed talking with the Belmont students, he said.
