Seniors looking for independent living options on the West Shore are in luck, as Trillium Communities has broken ground on a large-scale expansion to its existing West Shore Lodge, to be titled West Shore Village.

As its name suggests, the new development, which has 62 units planned for its first phase, will have enough amenities to give the building a village-like feel.

ThatB次元官网网址檚 not to say that the surrounding environment wonB次元官网网址檛 be attractive, however, as Sikorski believes the developmentB次元官网网址檚 location on Wale Road is another strength.

B次元官网网址淚t is a beautiful area. ThereB次元官网网址檚 lots of different options to go for a walk. ItB次元官网网址檚 not a busy street so itB次元官网网址檚 a great area for seniors,B次元官网网址� she said, noting the buildingB次元官网网址檚 proximity to West Shore Parks and Recreation and the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.

Dining out might not be a strong consideration, however, as residents will benefit from having an in-house five-star executive chef.

Trillium wasnB次元官网网址檛 ready to share any more specifics with regards to what amenities can be expected but residents at the Lodge will have access to all of the VillageB次元官网网址檚 common-area facilities as well.

Sikorski believes the expansion should help fill a strong need for seniors housing on the West Shore, citing the LodgeB次元官网网址檚 growing wait list as an example.

B次元官网网址淭hereB次元官网网址檚 definitely a need out in the West Shore for seniors housing. A lot of people keep moving out to the West Shore and thereB次元官网网址檚 just not the same amount of options as there is in Victoria,B次元官网网址� she said.

This latest project joins Cherish at Central Park as major developments aimed at independent seniors in the region.

The Village is scheduled to be completed by 2018.
