Royal Roads University recently appointed Doug Kobayashi to its board of governors.
Kobayashi is an experienced aerospace engineer, military veteran and management consultant.
He has held senior and executive positions within business, aerospace engineering and management consulting sectors, as well as 20 years of service in the Canadian military. He is the recipient of the Canadian Merit Award, Canadian Decoration and the Canada 125 medal.
Kobayashi currently leads Think Strategy, a management consulting firm, and was previously an aerospace engineer for the Royal Canadian Air Force, working in the aerospace industry for nearly 30 years.
Kathleen Birney, Royal Roads chancellor and chair of the board of governors, said she is happy to have Kobayashi join the team.

Kobayashi is also a director of the Victoria Conservatory of Music and a member of the board for Green Transit Partners.
He has volunteered as acting chair of the advisory council to RRUB次元官网网址檚 school of business and has served as the president of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce and the WestShore Rebels Football Club.
Allan Cahoon, Royal Roads president and vice-chancellor, pointed to KobayashiB次元官网网址檚 commitment to the university and the community that is a good fit for the board.
